Maybe because I model early 50's, late 40's, I don't know this modern freight car terminology. What is an ISO carrier?

Intermodal shipping container either box or tank container. They would not fit with your era of modeling.

ISO stands for International Standards Organization, which sets the standards for all kinds of things. Remember photo film? It used to be rated as ASA (American Standards Association), then all of a sudden it was the same set of numbers but called ISO. The ISO had simply adopted the American standard as an international standard, thereby rendering the standard promulgated by DIN (Deutsche Industrie Normen), which had previously been used in Europe, obsolete.
I prefer ASA and still slip and use it once in awhile. I get odd looks from the youngER photogs
