I have purchased the $50 DCS controller for my small track. My Rail King Aerotrain (PS2 5V) runs perfectly on conventional, but doesn't come to life with the DCS unit (I heard one relay click when track power is applied, but no lights, noise etc.). I have pushed the SU/SD button several times. I have had the engine very close to the transmitter, with no luck. Any ideas??? Is this a PS2 issue, or are these little controllers know to be a little wonky????

Has your Aerotrain ever been run with a TIU? If so, you need to do a Factory Reset with a DCS system.

I bought it "new" from a shop in Colorado. But, it doesn't mean it wasn't taken for a test run (which is no big deal from my angle). I will take it to a friend with a proper full system.
I suspect Gilly has nailed it, this is a very common issue.
If it is a PS-2 5V that is pretty old, so chances are it has been run or tested. G

Do you know anyone that could reset my PS-2 to the factory setting for conventional in the Westchester county area beside Westchester Hobby?
You shouldn't need a reset to run in conventional mode, what's the issue running?
He needs a factory reset to use with the cheapie remote.
True Marty, I don't consider that conventional mode. I think we have a conflict in terms.
