I don't know but I doubt it. The LIRR was a subsidiary of the PRR until 1965 when New York State purchased the RR. Any equipment transfers would likely have been with the PRR.
I did find this photo of a BAR box car in Oyster Bay in the 1970's.

Ron - Your Atlas O Pennsy B6 looks and sounds terrific!! Such wonderful detail on this loco!



Patrick - I really like that little Atlas engine too.  Too bad AtlasO doesn't do more steamers.

Just thought I'd mention the Atlas engine is a B28, not B6.  The B28 was a USRA design with a radial stay firebox, while the B6 was a Pennsy design with their Belpaire firebox.  In one of my books it states the B28 was preferred by the crews, even though the B6 was more capable.

Ron - thanks for pointing out the B28 not B6.  Somehow I missed seeing that info in  your post, which you clearly stated.    I do agree, it's too bad Atlas does not make more steam locos.  After seeing your B28 with all its explicit details and great sound, I definitely want one!!   Btw - thanks so much for posting your video showing us that great B28 engine and boxcar!

Ron, That on is certainly a rare one. I’ve been on the lookout for one ever since I saw a picture of it in an earlier post. The search continues!

Gene- I have an All-nations track cleaner also. It does a good job for maintenance cleanings. It's especially good for hard to reach areas on my layout. I use Goo-gone (not starting the great track cleaning discussion here).

I had fun building a custom car body too.

My father was an electrical engineer for Sperry Gyroscope (Rand) Corp for 45 years. The founder, Elmer Sperry also started Sperry Rail Service in 1929. Long Island was home to several major defense mfr's including Grumman, and Fairchild Republic. Sperry was the lesser known of the other 2 but they developed many of the gyroscope based guidance systems used at the time. Sperry had a lot of Navy contracts including the Trident and Polaris submarines.
It was a no brainer that I had to have some Sperry equipment in my collection.

I ordered the PC you mentioned above and then saw the Sperry on the auction site. Per your comments above, I had to have the Sperry so I cancelled the PC order (I hope!) and got the Sperry. My dad had Sperry-Rand stock for years. It likely helped put me through college. So, here's to our dads!
