Hi Everyone - I began this thread last Tuesday and received considerable enthusiastic replies and likes.  So here is the Tuesday August 16, edition of TEAM TRACK TUESDAY .... Lets all see photos of what's being loaded/unloaded on your layout's team track.  Remember that real photos of real railroad team tracks are more than welcome too!  Let's inspire each other with our creativity!  If you miss posting on Tuesday, no worries,  go ahead and post any day of the week.

Here are some team track photos from the Free State Junction Railroad Mountain Division and from the railroad's IMG_0340IMG_0410team track in Patsburg.

Well here are some simple photos on my temporary Westsylvania Railroad layout.

It appears Bill needs a bigger truck and some more assistance to unload these cable reels!!  Maybe he can put in a call to Patsburg for some help!!

Later in the day, on the next track they started unloading the products brought in from Maine.

Great thread, Pat......here's a real "team track" on the Norfolk Southern line into Richmond from the southwest.....the old "Richmond & Danville" of the Civil War era. It's in Chesterfield County near the intersection of Robious and Huguenot Rds (stradling Bon Air and Midlothian).

It has accessibilty for flatbeds and small cranes. It's lower than the Main and less well-developed. I have seen heavy machinery on flatcars on and off loaded here.

Enjoy.

Team Track Tuesday...it has a nice ring to it!  Thanks for coming up with this idea, Patrick.  Something to look forward to during the week!

Here's my contribution...a B&O boxcar containing a LCL delivery of small packages and merchandise has been spotted on the local team track...

CNJ 1601 -  I'm thrilled you are looking forward to this thread!  WOW!! Your team track scene is stunning!!!  From the weathering of the boxcar to the pallets on the ground to the boxes inside the car to the guys unloading.  Your fine work of art certainly says TEAM TRACK!!!  Glad you're on board! I look forward to your contribution next Tuesday!!

Peter - Thanks so much for this contribution to TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!!  To me there is no better inspiration for modeling than the prototype.... and you brought it to us in these fabulous photos!   It looks to me that perhaps the team track was extended beyond  the ballasted section to the unballasted with just the cross ties.  Could this have been the case?  Its nice to know that there is a real life example of a team track that has no ballast just cross ties ( for us budget minded modelers ).  I also like the dirt access road that runs beside the team track ( an excellent subject for modeling as well ).  The weeds growing in between the rails are good info for modeling as well.  Again thanks so very much for your wonderful contribution this week!! Greatly appreciated!!

Mark - I love your commentary!  AND your TEAM TRACK photo contribution is great!!  Great looking load of cable reals to be off loaded and nothing says potatoes ( I assume lobsters would be shipped in refridgerator cars ) like a State of Maine Products box car..... VERY NICE!!!  Yeah Bill may want to bring a bigger truck and a bigger hook next time.  A call to Patsburg won't go unanswered!  I love your Western Maryland steamer!  Is it a Lionel H7 consolidation?    I have one and really like it!   Thanks for your contribution this week!!! I look forward to seeing what's on your team track next Tuesday!

Hey Mark!  How bout this pipe load!! It look great!!!  AND your weathering job is great too!!!  I like the "ballast dust" on the trucks and wood brackets holding the pipes in place.  Did you make those?  I really like how you heavily weathered the bottom part of the car where it picks up the most dust from the ballast as it travels the mainline.  Great team track photo!!! Thanks so much and I look forward to seeing whats on your team track next Tuesday!!

Pat,

Thank you very much!  It is surprising how with a bit of thought a decent scene that tells a story can be made.  Then I saw your photos and realized I could tie my story to yours.

I'm glad you like the WM Consolidation.  It is an MTH Premier H9 that I just acquired Saturday in a trade with a local fellow.  It was a nice deal for us both.

Hi all!

Looks like a promising thread!

My preferences are really more with models, not real photos. Unfortunately switcher Saturday lost my interest by people posting real photos that we can all see in books and on the web at any time. No interest in that for me. I thought the original intent was to show your switcher MODELS. That would encourage others to buy something they seen and liked.

We have a REAL TRAINS category and I feel those photos should really go over there.

Looks like we have some good stuff so far. I picked something real quick from March 2016 from the hundreds of photos on my link below.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the comments. The "pipes" were easy to make, they are just soda straws from McDonalds painted grimy black with some strip wood bracing.

One thing I forgot.....sometimes MOW equipment is parked here....

I love how the Main is higher....cars can't roll off the team track onto the Main accidentally....

Peter

Thanks Peter!  The unballasted track accounts for the MOW equipment in that it may be parked on that section, due to it light weight.  True freight cars won't roll up hill LOL!  Thanks again for the post!

SIRT -  WOW!!! Your team track photos are terrific!!!!  I love the floor of the boxcar with what looks to me white paint may have leaked out of a prior load of paint cans/barrels. The dirt: is that real dirt?  The boxcar itself looks like its seen a lot of miles and a lot of action .... well worn and weathered!  Welcome aboard TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!

Bob - Thanks for the post!!  A well used team track for sure.  I love its, what appears to be, remote location.  AND I really notice all the trash on the track which is something I must learn to model on my own team track.  Thanks again Bob for posting!!!  Looking forward to next week's installment!

Mark -  I'd love to have a Premier H9.  The WM seemed to have lots of them.  My H7 is a bit too small and too old for my railroad, however, I do like it.  If I can work out a swap deal at some point, like you did, I'd be an even happier camper LOL!

And yes - a bit of thought can inspire a scene to tell a story.  Glad our stories could link!

Mark - good to know.  Thanks for the tip!  Btw - Frank Mullen ( Moonson) had a thread called Wallet Rescue's ... if you haven't seen it check it out .. your pipe load certainly would be welcome there too!
