I have seen the Tuscan Brown John Daniels Gg1 and the matching cars which I recently found out was designed by Randall for John. Hence the rivets and the immaculate design of the cars including interiors.
But U have not seen a Brunswick green version. And I was told there are a couple of other color schemes that were one offs or part of John’s Private collection, a part of which that was auctioned off a few years ago? Can someone throw more light on the so called rarer Gg1 sets?

I have 2 green GG1's.

These GG-1's are all quite beautiful, and your recently posted videos of them operating at the SGMA show in California are quite stunning.  I'll likely do a bit of searching' to learn a bit more about these beautiful standard gauge locos.

Last Saturday was the annual "Woodward Dream Cruise" in our area, a show which attracts thousands of owners of classic cars, literally from around the world.  During the entire week before the Dream Cruise, owners drive or display their classic cars along the famous Woodward Avenue during the evenings.  People come with friends and family, and sit in lawn chairs along the 15+ mile stretch of highway - M1.  I was there with my two sons, and a gorgeous, fully restored,1953 Studebaker Commander drove by.  I explained to my "train buddy" son that this vehicle was  also designed by Raymond Loewy, the designer of the GG-1.  The lines of each are very clean, and, very timeless.

I honestly think that these standard gauge models of the GG-1  are among the most beautiful models of that engine that I have seen, and, they are even more stunning in operation.  I recall bringing my green, 5 stripe, Williams GG-1 over to a friend's house for his annual "train party".  His layout was quite large, with sweeping curves on the outer mainline.  The Williams GG-1 was quite the favorite among the attendees, as it gracefully circled the perimeter of the layout with a long string of passenger cars.

I'm sure the standard gauge models are even more impressive!

Hello Mike23,

Yes the White Daniel's Railway GG1 belongs to me. All pictures I post are of items in my collection.

According to the recently published book "NOT Your Daddy's Standard Gauge" by Arno Baars & David Carse on page 306 it states " Daniel made one white GG1 for himself". On page 301 is a picture of my White GG1 with the caption below it reading "One of a kind: John Daniel's white GG1."

If anyone knows what was made as far as MESG trains, it was Arno Baars.

I purchased my white GG1 (which was a dummy unit)  from the estate of the late Arno Baars.

Arno bought it directly from John Daniel. When I purchased it, it came in its original box with the shipping label still attached which shows it went directly from John Daniel to Arno Baars.

So as far as the one you referenced I have no knowledge about it nor its provenance.

But I do know mine is legit....

Please keep us informed if you obtain any further information on the piece you referenced.
