Next weekend is the above mentioned train show in Monroeville, PA. I was just wondering who might be going. I'm planning on attending Saturday.

Jim,
I'll look for you!

See you there Jimmy, you know where to find us. I will have my Steeler train running the whole weekend.
I haven't been to the Monroeville show since it moved. Is it obvious where it's at and where to park? if I'm coming from the Turnpike, where should I look.
Thanks - walt
Walt, the convention center is adjacent to the old Expo-Mart (it even uses the Expo-Mart parking lots as overflow parking) and the hotel. Parking is a pain, but then again, it was a pain when the show was at the Expo-Mart, too. Do not park in the Babies R Us lot - they say they will tow anyone not shopping in their store. They say they have a shuttle from the mall parking lot, so there are alternatives for those that can't get a spot close to the convention center. Here is an overhead view if it helps:

Thom, are you planning on doing a Chuck Noll car?
That would be a great idea! (Are you up to the challenge, Thom? )
In any case, this show will also be the public debut of Thom's Superbowl Ring car (it has to be seen in person to see how awesome it is!).

Also keep in mind that if you are coming from the west, the outbound Squirrel Hill tunnel is supposed to be closed all weekend.

That should make it fun for the bus coming from the LOTS convention, and any convention people that decide to make the trip on their own...

Looks like we lucked out for this weekend! I double checked the Penn Dot site and
the closure has been postponed! There must be a train guy at Penn Dot:>))
Jim Sutter,
I plan on looking at some Tin Plate, I will keep an eye out for ya.

Jim and everyone else,
I plan to be there Saturday.
Thom,
I will make my way back to the left hand corner.
I'm looking forward to it!
Just got back from the show. It was a great day - no traffic, no line to get in, no big crowd. This show usually has more people attending, but it was very light today. It did make it easy to walk around, though. A large selection of trains and such were available - most of the usual sellers were there. Doc's Steeler train must be seen to be believed - and the Chuck Noll car was completed and in the consist. Bumped into Jim Sutter and said hi - he seems to be enjoying retirement greatly. If you can make it out on Sunday, you will enjoy the show.

I was there also. Yes attendance was a bit light, even with a number of LOTS convention attendees. I too saw Doc's Steeler train, and talked with him a while about it. Great job, and he told me he did the Chuck Noll car last night after setup. Spoke with Andy Hummel a while too about the modular layout. Very impressive seeing trains on 4 parallel tracks at a time, like on the old PRR Broadway. I saw Dr. Jack as well. The big item I got was a Polar Express hobo car for my set I bought from a forum member. Also spoke with Billy from Billy's Buildings for a while. Very nice fellow, and some very nice weathered buildings and dioramas for sale. I bought a weathered yard office that fits on my Ceiling Central. It was a good day.
