The engine and functions work, sound, direction, the problem is when i engage boost it go to top speed I have 72 and 96 radius so the engine stays on the track but I need to fix the problem any suggestions
Thanks Schmitty

I had heard that if a Command Equipped Locomotive did not see Command signals, it assumed it was to work as a Conventional Locomotive and hence since there was 18 volts on the track, it would take off at full speed. What confuses me though is you say all other commands are accepted and acted on by the Locomotive. This tells me that it is sensing the command signals. The way my Locomotives work is I turn my command bases on. I am using TPC from IC Controls and I do not think Lionel's since they are essentially the IC Control unit work differently, I address the TPC to turn on the 18 volts to the track. All my locomotives then respond with their Lights going on. I then address individual Locomotives with the ENG and ID# and Boost. The sounds activate and then the Locomotives respond to the various features on my Legacy touch screen and respond to the Throttle. Your engine does not react like this. Are you using Legacy? If you are you might want to check and make sure the properties of the Locomotive are correct. Access the "INFO" button on the side of the display and review the settings.
Are you referring to using boost in the initial call up, or boost as boost? If the latter, you should be able to program (lower) the desired top speed of your locomotive, and boost should stop its acceleration there.
K-line's early speed control is quirky and not very reliable. I have had instances where they (early command control) locomotives did not like Cab-1 throttle. I'd replace with a Electric Railroad cruise commander. Much better performance.
I agree with Chuck; CC-M should take care of any issues, and start/stop much smoother to boot. I have that engine and it's quite nice. Nice level of detail and runs pretty well. Coffin feedwater pre-heater is an interesting quirk.

Swap in a Lionel chassis and add PS3 😉.

I m using tmcc cad 1 functions work fine sound announcements acceleration slow down horn bell, while running engine around the track if I press the boost button it goes to max speed I have turn cad counter clock to resume speed and sometimes it takes off by it self . Other engines work fine ?
