K Line GG1

I have a K line GG1 #4912. I am currently having trouble keeping cars on the track behind the engine. I run tubular 31" diameter track. I know that's tight for this 20 wheel engine, but it works most of time. Now it's derailing, or causing the next car to derail. I am trying to run it with a Lionel box car to replicate a consist that ran into Chicago. The power trucks don't allow for much movement, and the couplers are tight onto the first set of 4 wheels. Seems like there should be more play. Any thoughts.

The K-line GG-1 is the same as the MPC version. The end bogies should have plenty of movement as these engine could be run on O-27 curves with no issues, look for a bind. Send me a message should you need further help

I’ve noticed on mine that the tab that limits the end truck movement will sometimes come out of its slot in the frame when I take it out of the box. First pic is how far my trucks swing for reference, next picture is how the tab should be, picture below is with it popped out…
