I just purchased a K-Line Hudson steam engine and tender that has TMCC. When I run it in command mode it acts just like it is a conventional train. It will not keep a slow constant speed throughout the track. I have to increase it to a higher speed or it will slow down and struggle to make the curves. The engine speeds up around the curves and slows down on the straight parts of the track. I wanted to ask if someone knows what might be going wrong. I expect that in the command mode I should be able to slow the engine way down, and it should maintain that steady slow speed throughout the layout with no increase or decrease in speed.

Not that surprising, many of the K-Line locomotives don't have cruise control, what you describe is exactly how they run.
You'll have to consider adding a cruise module, the ERR Cruise Commander M is what you need. Very simple installation.

Thank you for telling me, I didn't know about that.
I have two K-Like Hudsons and have done just that, installed the Cruise M in both. They run at constant speeds now.
Thank you for telling me, I didn't know about that.
Could somebody tell me where I can purchase one of these ERR Cruise Commander M boards? I am not finding a dealer online that has one in stock.
I linked you directly to the 3rd Rail site, you can purchase it right from them, they are the manufacturer now!
Here's a link to the ordering page direct: 3rd Rail ERR Order Page.
You want this one.

Thank you so much for your help, I appreciate it very much!
Are you sure it is not cruise? Some had on off switch for cruise. G
