Something similar happened to mine, try lube.  If you search posts on my handle you should find some helpful responses from others on how to lube this critter.  Eventually mine gave a spark issues forth some smoke from a place that smoke should issue from and quite.  I had it repaired as the local shop.  It seems to run fine now.

Have you tried to check the circuit board? I had an MP-15 by K-Line that the circuit board was fried and sent it back to K-Line for a new circuit board.

To check the can motor(can motors are DC, never put one straight to track power) use a 9 volt battery and see if it works. Or you can bypass the circuit board and use a bridge rectifier hooked to track power to test the motor with.
