I recently acquired from the "For Sale" and "Wanted" forum two items I am very pleased with. It started with a set of heavy weight 15" Reading Passenger cars. The 4681 set of 6 cars including the baggage and diner car found in the 2005 catalog. That followed by my posting a "Wanted" item for the matching K-25811TC Reading F3 ABA also found in the 2005 catalog. Both items are now on my layout. Both were in very good condition with little wear. Two of the Passenger cars had a minor scratch and the engines needed a through cleaning. I want to thank Rob Bennett, the son of one of our forum members, who was cleaning out his father's train collection and Mike Taylor who responded to my "Wanted" post and passed along the F3 ABA set.
This all matches my time frame of the early 50's and now I have two passenger lines to build on - the 2005 Lionel Santa Fe F3s #19 & 18 with their Santa Fe 15" aluminum liners and the Reading set. Can I find an intersecting RR crossing to model from their day?
