OK, I have some others. Two of the K-Line A-5's updated to cruise, I double-head these. I also have the Reading 4-6-6T.
Can the A5 and the B6's be outfitted with the supachuffa-esp the TMCC versions?
To answer the original question I have two k line locos, the 4-6-4 tank engine and the little plymouth switcher. Both have required some repair by a local service person some years back. Both continue to serve me well. I had the more traditional size ft unit, the motors have been moved into other projects.

The A5 with TMCC is stuffed, no room for adding the fan driven smoke or Super-Chuffer. I've looked at it a few times hoping it would get bigger, but it never does. The B6 might make the cut, it's bigger, but I haven't looked in the K-Line version to see how it's laid out. I did actually do an upgrade of the Lionel AC motored version to fan driven smoke and a Super-Chuffer some time back.

I have a couple of the K-Line Plymouth engines, I still want to stuff command into one of them. I also have the K-Line Porter that I did upgrade to TMCC.
I love K Line. Have the A5 and B6 switchers with TMCC. Beautiful and reliable. Have the SP daylight, SP BlackWidow, and Santa Fe Alcos. On the light side but great runners. Got the UP Plymouth Switcher. Reliable and good puller for it’s size. Got 5 speeders. Cute little run around cars. Got 3 MP15 switchers. Had a problem with the motor jamming up on one of them but the other two run fine. All the aforementioned are conventional. On the Alcos and MP15s I convert from parallel to serial wiring to avoid jack rabbit starts. Many available on eBay but the prices are really skyrocketing on some of them.
Parts are still available- was it the Train Doctor who has old K-line parts? And while whoever does have those parts certainly has fewer now, there are many who have used engines for specific parts, and the rest they are sometimes willing to part with. Further, if you’re looking into TMCC there’s overlap with Lionel rail sounds, motherboards, and ERR cruise to replace the K-line cruise(as well as K-line cruise replacement boards if you choose that route).
My personal experience with k-line diesel below:
My first loco was a K-Line Chessie S-2, so a conventional diesel, I think for my 6th birthday back in 1997. After 2001 it went untouched for about 16+ years, until I entered the hobby as an adult. Grease and lubricant had it running fine in no time!
About 3+ years ago I purchased a very nice K-Line Amtrak F40PH on eBay. It has TMCC, RS, diesel exhaust and K-Line Cruise Control(ver. 4). Despite occasionally having to reset it, this loco has served me very well and I am quite happy with it.
My most recent K-line purchase was a the KCC CSX SD70MAC that came in the Lionel box, sku 2-11556. The box labels this as conventional with cruise, RS, & diesel exhaust. Despite, or rather in spite, of the best efforts of the previous 2 owners to convert it to command control. It’s a work in progress. For some reason it has 2 motherboards: one for a TMCC steam loco and one for a TMCC tender. Regardless, I was able to set the idea, the smoke works, but it shoots like a rocket. Think I have a solution and am planning to post a thread soon for some advice.
Asking here is definitely a step in the right direction.
I have 4 K-Line engines and all are working well at about 20 years....all with TMCC and RS.....
A Brunswick Green Semi-scale GG-1.
A Pennsy scale A5 switcher.
A scale New Haven EP-5.
A New York Central RR-3.
The RS-3 has gotten the most run time.....

@Putnam Division Nice roster!! Had a chance to get the ep-5, which I think is awesome , but was unable to meet with the seller. If I had a K-line RS-3 it’d certainly get the majority of run time! From everything I’ve read & researched, these never came equipped with cruise which is why I haven’t bought any. Same with the FM trainmasters. The gp38-2s always caught my eye, especially the Penn Central and Santa Fe, but they rarely come up.
also, to the OP, check out this website which covers K-line’s offerings between 1999 and 2006

Au Contraire, the Trainmaster did indeed come with cruise, I have one in captivity. It's actually a very nice unit, smoke, spinning fans, and of course, cruise.
I also have several K-Line steam engines; three scale hudsons, a berk and a mike. They are just fabulous in my book. My only diesel is an early F40PH that has gone through some upgrades.
Thanks!

K-Line Cruise control diesels can be identified by the CC suffix after the item number.
Not all steam with the CC suffix has cruise though, the Mikados being one of those.
Many of the Erie Lackawanna Trainmasters have Cruise as well.
Pete
I always wondered about that! I knew there was ambiguity with the CC suffix- didn’t know it was steam only! Thanks @gunrunnerjohn and @Norton
