Been working on a project that is an adapter for American Models trucks for Kadee couplers to allow a quick change from Claw type to Kadee type couplers without mounting the box on the car frame.
This may be handy for club layout visits or for a easy way to use more scale type couplers on AF and AM rolling stock without modifying the rolling stock. I have designed a 3D print version for prototyping. It can be tweaked for various lengths.

Good idea for those who don't want to body mount Kadee's.

Good idea. I was asked why I don't convert to Kadee's a while back. My answer was I am too lazy. This maybe an incentive.

If you change to AM trucks you solve two problems at once.
I have changed the trucks on all my Lionel S freight cars.
They look so much better!
Carl, I love AM trucks. Anything I mess with got them. Most of what I run is cars with AM and S helper trucks. As I said I'm lazy so wholesale conversion would be expensive and time consuming. But I like your idea.
I do have a question. What about the long passenger car couplers. They are useful for some conversions.
Looks like a great idea for the folks who are using American Flyer track if they want to use the Kadee couplers.

The pic with the flat car has the kadee adapter installed already and you can see it looks right on.
It would be great to make something like this to replace link couplers, especially on 653/653/654 heavyweight cars.
