Karl Bub (KBN) station

One of my favorite pieces is this station by Karl Bub. It is made in "US Zone Germany". I understand that the same station was made in the pre-war period, although I haven't seen much in the way of pictures or information. Does anyone know the date of first production of this station? TIA

I just found this on eBay. Maybe this is the earlier version of the KBN station.
