I know a lot of modelers like to build their structures from scratch but I have a fondness for the old Plasticville. The problem is that my builidings have been assembled and dismantled so many times that they no longer stay together, especially the cape cods. Im in the middle of putting up my Christmas layout and im building a small plasticville village. Does anyone have any ideas on how to temporarily keep the plasticville houses together? I dont want to glue them.

Trainfever,
Try a little masking tape around the tabs, I did this a few years back and it seemed to hold fine.

I've seen people dribble a bit of Elmers on the tabs. After it dries it will keep the walls from vibrating apart during running sessions and when time comes to take them apart the glue easily pops free from the plastic.

You can use modeling clay or putty to form an internal rib of goop that surrounds the tabs. Just peel it off after Twelfth Night and you're ready for next year.
I have used this stuff from Scenic Express: http://www.sceneryexpress.com/...fo.asp?number=EX0143
I use DAP 1 oz package of adhesive putty from lowes

I put some on the corners inside the buildings
hers is my layout with plasticville on it
White glue. It can be dissolved with water when you want to dis-assemble.

I agree. Mini-Hold Wax was designed for this type of job. I've used 2 containers of it over the past 7 years.
I use earth quake putty...works for this type of application and great for setting the figurers...
Try this...

Works great for your purpose. But, not so great that you should be able to de-struct the building without breaking the plastic at some time in the future. And the glue residue should be reasonably easy to remove from the plastic building should you wish to sell the item to a PV collector in the future.
This has reminded me to stop at Michael's tomorrow and get a fresh bottle of Aleene's Tacky Glue...I use it LOTS of places in the layout.
FWIW, always...

The Blue Sticks from DAP are the greatest we use this on our modular set up all the time, and the residue it quite easy to remove. There is another brand that is brown and work equally as well but I am not sure of the name or manufacturer. What ever one you choose I am positive you will have success with it.
