I used an Aoshima Skynet Knight Rider K.A.R.R. 1/43 Diecast Car instead of the Hotwheels elite Knight Rider. The Aoshima already had a led system built in the car. If I where to use  the Hotwheel car I would have to use a machine shop to do the modifications. The MP3 player, MP amp and speaker system is a Stan2004 design.

I was like 5 when this show first aired... Odd how a person can remember stuff that far back.. Yikes that was like 33 some years ago!

Thanks for sharing Kris!  The relatively recent availability of low-cost, hi-fidelity, long-play digital sound modules opens the door to rolling stock and layout accessories limited only by the imagination.  Your persistence in slogging thru the nuts-and-volts is admirable!

Most complicated train piece I ever have made (this actually my first one).  Thanks to you and John you made it easy. The last time I did some even this close was building a Pentium I computer and that was long ago what a nightmare. Now on to the next project the IR senor project and the volt, amp, TVS and fast circuit break project.

Man, I would love to have a 1:48 or 1:50 Kitt on my layout.  I'm sure 1:43 ones exist, but...

I was going though some old photos the other day. One was my primary school class photo from 1982 with me age 8 wearing a Knight Rider sweat shirt. 

 

I think I can still recite the intro to the show! Along with the one for the A-Team...

Hot wheels makes a 1:43 with no led lights and they go for about $50.00  each.

Aoshima Skynet Knight Rider K.A.R.R. 1/43 Diecast Car they go for about $125 and up. Both items are readily available on the web.

This actually part of my 80's theme  train set. K.I.T.T. and Michele are the stars of this show.  I have in house the A-Team van, Back To The Future DeLorean and a few special guest star that will make an appearance. Now if I could get Stan and John to help me to make the flux capacitor to work on the time machine on the DeLorean I would be set. (LOL) Since some talk how old (young) they where when Knight Rider was on the air, for the record I was in High School.
