Well i found Kowalski was widly used in tv.
Why I called it Kowalski, because Kowalski was fixing the SSRN Saeview in the tv show 'Voyage to the bottom of the sea"
he always did everything right and on time. this is the relation between the hardware store and Kowalski name.

The first Kowalski that came to mind, was Killer Kowalski from 1960s wrestling days. I agree, I have heard the name Kowalski used in movies since.
I agree this is another fine building, and I like the saw sign too!
geez, sorry I was late to this. Looking up Kowalski, it turns it out it is the second most popular name in Poland.

I was expecting to see a model of a white 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in front of Andre's building as Greenlight has a 1/43 scale version. Guess this image from the movie will have to do!
Andre could replicate the Goldfield Hotel in Goldfield, Nevada which is where the radio station KOW was located in the movie:
