I MAY BE ON THE WRONG FORUM AND IF SO, IS THERE A MARX FORUM?  MY BROTHER-IN-LAW JUST PASSED AWAY AND HE HAS A HUGE COLLECTION OF MARX, MOST OF IT VERY OLD AND IN SETS, A LOT OF MILITARY.  I HAVE BEEN ASKED TO SELL IF FOR HIS WIDOW AND AM LOOKING FOR POSSIBLE LEADS OR  A MARX FORUM.  CAN ANYONE OFFER SOME IDEAS?  WE HAVE ABOUT 50 BOXES THAT HAVE BEEN IN CLIMATE CONTROLLED STORAGE AND HE BOUGHT ONLY ORIGINAL AND QUALITY MARX.  WE MUST MOVE IT ALL BEFORE THE HOUSE WILL BE SOLD, PROBABLY BEFORE THE SNOW FLIES.

THANK YOU,

GEORGE

Hi Joe:

Thanks for your interest. My brother-in-law collected primarily old Marx for over 25 years. His interest was mostly sets, in original or very good condition, with the boxes. We are in the process of identifying the individual sets and locating them in the house and dry storage unit. We have approximately 60 boxes in total, very many sets. There is also some new Marx in boxes, unopened that he collected in the late 90's. I don't know if you would be interested in those. I would like to stay in touch with as we go through the process I described. We would be interested in a sale rather than a consignment, which a couple of people want to do because they knew Basil had been collecting. If you give me your email or other contact information, I will keep you apprised of where we are in the process. to give you an idea of what we have here is a small sample.

Sets 5953BT, 5924, 5926G, 5927, 5826G, 3994, 1526, 5029, 8935, and more. He has a very large number of original military cars and locos.

If interested, please get back to me with your contact information and where you are located.

Thanks again,

Hello George,

I am a Marx collector and I am interested to see just what you have for sale, I may be interested in purchasing it all.

Thanks,

Joe

Joe: I have finished accumulating the collection from the house and storage unit. The number of boxes, both complete sets and boxes of cars, etc., wrapped in tissue paper is massive, 83 boxes in all. This does not include the "new" Marx that was reproduced in the late 90's, early 2000. We would prefer to sell it all to one buyer otherwise I'll be placing it on Ebay for the next 5 years and I don't want to do that. Basil was very partial to the military pieces, but he collected everything old, preferably complete sets. Let me know if you might be interested in making an offer on the lot. If so, we should talk and I could give you more detail. If you have an email address, that would be helpful.
