Last night, fine. This AM, no sound??

Attached are the innards of the tender with the 4 boards numbered.

The board labeled #4 can not properly fit. It is clearly askew. trying to reseat it reveals the problem.

This is the second of these locomotives I have had to take apart. It really is discouraging to see just how poorly these components fit together!

Terry, it's not uncommon for you to have to move that triac aside to fit the board in, thing fit close.  You just gently push it to the outside (or inside) to provide clearance.

Pushing it gently aside seems a no go. Likely, had it been so, the guy at Weaver would have done that.

What is that connector for? Any idea? Maybe it's a function I could live without . . . an electro coupler perhaps?

I guess there's one way to find out. Stand by for explosions and fires!

It's the smoke triac.  If you don't have smoke or a blinking strobe on the engine, it's probably not used.

I think he is talking about moving the connector, not the TRIAC.  Terry see if there is a marking or follow the wires.  G

Sure, but if he doesn't use the smoke triac, he could move that.
