I would like idea on how to improve this layoutfirst is 8x14 other side is 4x14 with room on side of large section for a lift gate and a turntable. I would like some ideas I'm open to adding a secound level section.,thank you , Jess

Track plan looks good so far. Green painted plywood will do but you might look into some Midwest cork roadbed to install underneath the track to quiet it down a bit. Woodland Scenics 0-gauge trackbed works good too.
You might want to consider how you will reach the far side of the 4' section and the middle of the 8' wide area.

What are your goals for your layout? Running multiple trains, focus more on switching, and/or focusing more on scenery. Once you figure out the goals of your layout it will be easier to see how to improve it.
