Sorry to hear that Dave. It's gotta be tough but you made a big positive impact on his life and that's a great thing.
Thanks Bill, I certainly tried.
Dave I am so sorry for the loss of Elebee, I know how much they are part of our lives and how attached we become to each other! Just remember he will be watching you with your trains to make sure your layout keeps going!
Very comforting words Mike, thank you much.
Dave
Dave, sorry for your loss, I keep remembering the day we put Maggie down, still rough after 4 years. It was time, but still ... We did get another border collie to fill the void. Jessie is a sweetie and a lap dog unlike Maggie who could tolerate about 3 seconds of cuddling.
Once again a post I would have liked to acknowledge, but clicking a "like" somehow seems wrong.
Best ... Jeff
Sorry to read about your dog. Always hard to lose a pet.
Just got back on this thread after awhile. I have a lot to view in depth.
From what little I've seen, you're hitting it out of the park!
George
Jeff and George thank you for your caring expressions. George, I have been going slow but steady with work. Thanks for viewing and your positive comment.
Dave
Dave, I’m so sorry you lost Elbee today. It can be so difficult to lose a cherished pet that has become part of the family. My heart goes out to you. I’ve been there too. The hardest day of a pet owner. I’m glad that you got to enjoy your time together.
Andy
Andy,
I appreciate your condolences. It definitely is difficult and the day after is not much better.
Dave
Good Morning,
I recently completed another D.D. kit which will go in the new town I am constructing. This is the Labor Temple. Photos show various positioning of the building, close-up photos of details, and the last photo shows the building in its designated location in the town. The building will also have interior and one of the photos show the beginning stages of that. I still need to add a few more figures and lighting. Finally, the second of a two-part video is located at the bottom of this post. You can also view the first video by clicking on the link to my YouTube page. Please consider subscribing to my YouTube channel if you haven't already done so.

Good job on those classic Downtown Decos!
Thanks Norm! I know you're a fan of them too!
Dave
@luvindemtrains Dave I’m simply speechless with detailing! Amazing work!
Much appreciated Rich!

Dave - I've really enjoyed following along with your Dowtown Deco builds on youtube. It's inspired me to pick up a kit myself!
Out of curiosity, where did you source your window blinds? They look great.
Dave, Nice job on that kit. Love all the extra details you have added. Especially the Ivy growing on the side. Nothing against the Woodland Scenics line of buildings. I have a couple myself. But you just can’t beat the less than perfect brickwork that is hand carved and detail of a Downtown Deco kit. They just look more like real life.
Alex-Thank you and thanks for following my D.D. builds. The blinds are produced by Builders in Scale.
Dave C.-Thank you. I think if you can find the right mixture of buildings from different manufacturers and even kit-bashed and scratch built buildings, you can really create something special. In all cases, details make the difference.
Dave
Afternoon Dave, Just got done watching your new video Episode 11. I think you once again have done an amazing job on the building! I truly cant wait to see Episode 12! I also want to thank you for the free lesson!
Thanks for watching Mike and you're welcome. It was fun.

Hey Dave I have a question for you that is a little off topic. I just got done watching your running light segments on your YouTube site and was just wondering why you have a couple engines on your layout that still have the packing foam between the safety rails on them?
Great question Mike! Unfortunately, I do not yet have a place to store my locomotives and rolling stock, so after running them for a week or so I put them back in the boxes. Because of this I only take off what I need to to run the unit. However, for the sake of presentation, I need to take the packing off.
Dave
Dave, excellent building and video. Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you kindly Mark.
Dave
Excellent job on the building Dave, thanks for the video, I really enjoy the process and background.
Andy
Thank you Andy! I try to give some context.
Dave
Good day everyone,
Here are some photos of another D.D. building kit I have recently completed. This one actually comes with 2 buildings. With these out of production kits, getting them on the second-hand market can be bittersweet. Most of them have been fine but a few have come with broken walls. Fortunately, the ones I have built so far have been repairable. The first few pictures shows what I opened the box to find to getting the four walls of both buildings together.
In addition to the photos, I have also included the first of two videos of the build. This is for those who like to follow along from the beginning. I posted this video a few days ago and will post the conclusion in the next day or so.

Dave, great looking building and looks like you have a wonderful start!
Thanks Mike! Once I repaired the broken wall it went together pretty easily.
Dave
Dave, that was a nice video on repairing and coloring the castings. The coloring made to resemble wood came out nice.
Looking good Dave, I like how you brought this kit back to life, well done and thanks for the video.
Andy
Thanks Mark and Andy!
Dave
That is superb craftsmanship Dave, very impressive.
Jay
Thank you Jay. There is much you can do with these.
Dave
Good Day Everyone,
Well here are some photos of the finished product. Despite the minor set back when I opened the box, this one probably was my favorite thus far. There was a small shed included with the kit but I was unable to use it because of where this building is currently going to sit on the layout. I also added a few details outside of the kit. You can really go down a "rabbit hole" once you start. That's all I'll say but the video is included if you want to to see the conclusion to this build.

They look great, Dave!
Dave you are a master craftsman. Do they make barbecue scented smoke fluid?
Jay
That's a work of art! Thanks for sharing.

Dave, Great job on the buildings. You have given me some new ideas as well. Bill
Excellent work, Dave!
Peter
Mark, Jay, Greg, Bill, and Peter thank you for the kind remarks. Jay, I think they do and that would be a great idea to use it sometimes. You would have to be here in person to catch the ambiance.
