Happy Sunday and post TCA York spring meet everyone. I have been involved with two 2-rail O Scale clubs in the Atlanta area for a few years now. Both clubs have joined forces and are now searching for a new location. Along with all of the projects I will be doing with my own layout, I thought I would add the club adventures as well.

This first post is of the last operating session at the Railroad Model Club of Atlanta.

Dave, thank you for posting this. What a great opportunity it would be to be part of such a rebuild.
I would have enjoyed the opportunity to meet you at York.

Jay

Dave, thank you very much for that video. I enjoy all of your videos but as a person who really likes 2 rail a lot this one was even more enjoyable. It is a shame such a layout has to be taken down. As everyone knows layout and scenery building techniques have improved over the years so it was cool to see a layout built in the manner of the way it was done in the early years of model railroading.

I apologize, that I am just seeing these replies to the last video I posted.

Jay, I didn't actually go to York but was just making reference to the event. I hope to go this fall.

Phil, I really am excited about this opportunity. I'm sure it will be one of the highlights for me in this hobby.

Mark, I will keep everyone posted on our progress. We actually just went to research another potential location today.

Mike, thank you kindly.  What research have you done to find other modelers in your area?

Here's some progress shots and my latest YouTube video.  This is the K&P Brick and Building Company Gantry Crane. As shown in the photos, the kit uses templates to aid in the build. With a few changes, I pretty much stuck with the instructions. I'm sure many of you have built this kit. I believe the kit has been updated to include plastic guard rails etc. I noticed that someone posted their model a couple of weeks ago and the parts looked different. Mine must have been one of the original productions. I probably could have founds some pieces laying around but decided to stick with the materials provided. I think it will fit in just fine in my switching area.  I kept this in mind while building it. It is an excuse to justify my errors.

Thank you laz57! May I ask, what is a deer blind?

Dave

Hi DAVE,

GUYZ use them around PA, some are very nice and have heat in them for hunting deer.  Others looks just like the yellow structure, somewhat of a shack just to keep the hunter dry.  Looking forward to seeing your layout, and all the new stuff you have on it.  Keep up the good work.

Good day forumites,

Here is a low relief structure that I recently finished up. My layout will be part of the Piedmont Pilgrimage once again this year. The event is sponsored by the Piedmont Division of the NMRA and features Atlanta area layouts. Every year, once I find out my open house date, I plan several project to see how many I can actually complete before my doors open. I would say this is the first major project. The wall sections come from kits from Imagine That Laser Art aka ITLA. The photos show basic steps to completion. Additionally, you can watch my 4-part series of the build on my YouTube channel. I have posted the finale video below, but if you're interested in the step-by-step process feel free to go back to Part 1.

Thanks,

Dave
