I'm in the process of expanding my layout from 10x12 to 20x12. Currently clearing the space in the garage and working on the benchwork for the expansion. I have a question - will my Z4000 be enough to power that size layout or will I need additional power? I run a complete command-control environment with DCS. My plans are for two mainlines, a yard, and also turntable/roundhouse. Thoughts or suggestions would be great. I can't use SCARM because I'm an Apple guy, so my track plan is hand-drawn. I'm using Gargraves/Ross switches.

As long as you have adequate track power feeds, your Z-4000 will power a layout hundreds of acres(and more) in area/size.
Plenty of power as Rob stated. Good luck on the new layout!

Thanks guys. I thought it would be, but I just wanted to double check.
I'll post pictures as I make progress.
I too use Mac and I was put onto Railmodeller Pro track design software by a an OGR member who used it. https://ogrforum.com/t...54#40004360336509954
I've tried a few layouts and it seems to work pretty well with Ross, even though the library is a tad limited.
It's in beta test at the moment so you might like to look into it for your layout design.
