I am working on my next layout and used LCS on the last for switches both DZ 1000 and Tortise . I see I can run the DZ machines from the I pad as well as buttons but would like switches on the layout facia as well. my question , is there a way to send feed back to the lcc system so if I use the line side button the I pad shows it has been moved ?

Do you mean LCS (Layout Control System) by Lionel?

What are you using for control of the switches from the LCS system? This does not change the answer for monitoring but good to know what you have now and what you are using for your complete setup so other components can be added.

Yes, 2 products do this within LCS system.

LCS Switch Throw Monitor (STM2)- Monitors up to 16 switches.

Or, another product CSM2 (Custom Switch Machine) meant to be used with DZ-2500 switch motors, but in theory could monitor 7 switches. http://www.lionel.com/products...hine-2-csm2-6-85295/

It's advantage is it controls 4 block power relays, outputs a serial data for DZ-2500 or other serial data compatible switch machines, and has 7 inputs similar in function to the STM2 to indicate switch status.

The STM2 was made for monitoring turnout position, a wiring diagram with a Tortoise is shown below. As stated above the CSM2 was made specifically for use with the DZ2500. The STM2 can also be used but it requires an additional power supply and relay to make it work. The CSM2 should be simpler.

More than one iPad can be used in the LCS system. I have three for visitor use. They all show the same thing and the layout responds to the latest input. With multiple iPads I have no need for physical switches, but that is personal preference.

I am guessing that the DZ-1000 won't work as it has no aux contacts , would like to use them for ease of installation rather than all that under table work with the tortis machines. maybe abandoning the facia mounted button near the switches and just using the hand held and I pad would be much easier.
