The facility appears to be quite large and very well organized.

Very impressive facility... And very nice that Lionel opened the facility to LCCA members for the day.

That's from the time when the tooling was modified and used to make the plastic 675-style locos for the New Englander set and the two separate sale versions.  The chassis it was sitting on was for those locos and the Blt. by Lionel builders plates that would have been on it during the postwar period were replaced with blank rectangles.  It was die-cast, but the left cab side was warped.  There was no boiler front, trailing truck, motor, any side rods or linkage, or e-unit in it.

Great job on the pictures Dave, I hope our next road trip will be to Canfield. I think the Wheeling 5 all had a great time. The 7.5 hour road trip went quick and the weather was also good. WOW!!! The photos of the archive section is amazing! That had to have been very cool to see in person. Talk about stepping back in time.
