LCCA Members Have Fun at 10-16-13 Special Event in York PA (Recap)
Lionel Collectors Club of America members met with LCCA officers and directors, volunteers and most importantly, other LCCA members from all around the country on 10-16-13 at Smokey Bones Restaurant in York PA. LCCA members came from 20 different states to gather, get together and talk trains in York PA! I am certain everyone had F. U. N!
As part of the LCCA Special Events program, LCCA President Dennis DeVito has set the goal of reaching out and meeting with 2,200 LCCA members during the next 12 months. We appreciate the 75 plus members who came from as far away as California, Colorado and Texas to be there. Members enjoyed meeting with each other, sharing a good meal and talking trains. Members received LCCA commemorative SE pins, as well as numerous door raffle prizes. Several Lucky members received LCCA’s “100% Made in America” Billboard frames as well as other LCCA commemoratives.
LCCA President Dennis Devito displayed LCCA’s new commemorative products, the Texas Tommy Special and the recently announced Lou Caponi Coal Set Signature train offering. This set designed by the late Honorary LCCA President Infiniti, Lou Caponi, consists of a Vulcan Switcher engine, an operating hopper car and a non-operating hopper car with an battery operated end of train device (another first) . Another unique feature is these hopper cars will have operating couplers and die-cast fully-spring trucks. Please go to the club store section on our website www.lionelcollectors.org for the details and to order this limited edition commemorative set with custom Lou Caponi Billboard insert and frame set. Do not procrastinate on this one, sales will be limited to the first 500 members who place their order. We expect to be able to deliver these sets to our members who order them during the first quarter of 2014.
LCCA President Dennis DeVito also had all 7 pre-production pieces of the Texas Tommy LCCA train set and add-on cars together for the very first time. Members just loved the set especially the diamond mint car.
