The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) just completed a very successful event in Dearborn MI on Saturday Oct 11, 2014.  The LCCA is started its a year long celebration of our 45th Anniversary year along with a surprise  85th Birthday celebration with Mr. Richard Kughn.  Here are some photos from this event.   The LCCA also had an opportunity to meet with Richard Kughn and run some trains on his home layout earlier in the day.  The LCCA will be posting videos in the video gallery section of our website www.lionelcollectors.org taken of Dick's layout and interview in the near future.  LCCA member Derek Thomas will be releasing  a Notch podcast of our interview with Dick.   Stay tuned to www.notch6.com to listen to this interview.

LCCA Members Bob and Angela Trotta Thomas presented Dick with an original gift painting as part of his surprise 85 th Birthday celebration.  Dick was also surprised by the attendance of former Lionel President Nicholas De Grazia and former  Plant Operations Manager  Eugene Kutcher of Lionel Trains Inc's Plant in Michigan.  The staff from Kughn Enterprises was also in attendance and able to keep this surprise party a secret from Dick.   Former  LCCA officers, Ed Richter, Don Carlson and Laurence Nahigian were also in attendance.  With out their volunteer efforts and contributions, the LCCA would not be the club it is today, so Thank you Ed, Larry and Don.

As part of the evening's celebration, Dick was very gracious and took questions from the audience and provided answers and numerous personal stories.  It was a fun and historical event that was enjoyed by all in attendance.  Thank you all for attending and especially Dick and Linda Kughn for playing such a vital role in this LCCA Special Event!
