Does anyone know if the LCS Wi-Fi unit can connect to an existing network on either 5GHz or 5.8 GHz? I realize that there's an ongoing issue with connecting to a network but that is not my question. My question is about a LCS Wi-Fi unit connecting to a 5GHz or a 5.8GHz network.

No, it only connects to the 2.4ghz WiFi.

BTW, is this the correct forum to ask questions about the various components of the LCS system? I have a few and want to follow correct protocol.

OK, so I go to that thread and it's just that - a thread. If I have a question about a particular unit - say the SER2 - do i start another topic for my questions on the SER2? or what?

OK, I realize that I'm being "thick" here but I'm a newbie at this so please bear with me - one more time.

...thread. But the response from CJACK seemed to say that I should start a new topic in the...
...forum.
So which is it? Or am I all wrong and the question should go somewhere else? Sorry for all the confusion - mainly between my ears. I just want to follow the correct protocol.

LCS and all modules (SER2 example) are LCS. Since LCS is a subset of TMCC LEGACY and ERR, that's why you got the answers you did. Since the subcategory exists, the best answer is still the correct one- LCS module questions would be best served in the LCS existing thread. Just my opinion, but that's the logic behind the answer.
Sounds right , but if some don’t follow the LCS thread by posting or clicking “Follow “ then starting an SER2 will get the most attention. However the LCS thread may already have an answer by just reading.
Whatever works would be a good answer too. I think that most folks here are after results and other than friendly posting, protocol is not a big concern.
Got it - I think. Thanks for all your patience. I shall probably post my questions in this forum - TMCC/Legacy/ERR - so that I can more easily find the question and responses at a later time.. I would put them in the LCS thread if I had better luck making the SEARCH function work. I just haven't cracked the code on that one yet - probably inexperience.
