Apologies if this has been asked and answered but the keywords for this in a forum search are not very limiting.

I am just getting started in the hobby but do have a Cab2/Base2 and a LCS SensorTrack. If I expand to more LCS modules, one obvious component is the LCS WiFi module.  When the Base3 comes out next year, will it's WiFi replace the need for the LCS WiFi module or is the WiFi in the Base3 for other purposes?

I'm heading to York Thurs and who knows what I might find, but I don't want to pick up something I don't immediately need that might not be required in a few months.

Many thanks
- David

I bought one recently - just because I got it for 75 bucks - knowing the base3 will replace it, however I wanted to use the app to throw switches.  It does this well.  Also gives me another option for a remote should I end up in the situation that my base2 remote dies or breaks.  I tend to ignore my train stuff in the summer months so the fact that the base3 won't be here until spring means I probably won't open the box until next year at this time.   I would say if you find one cheap and you are anything like me (someone that likes instant gratification) - you may want to consider it knowing it will be something that might have a limited lifespan for your use.  The thing that is hard to find is the power cable for it, I ended up making my own based on a post I found here.
