Is he still around offering models? I encounterd him/his products in an eastern show, some years ago, where he was offering a model of one of those little double ended Mack switchers in O scale brass, as a kit, or, I think, built up. He might be a logical source for the McKeen car or kit which thread surfaced again this morning on the forum. (Another item for RMT to consider would be a SCALE SIZED 3 rail version of that Mack switcher, but the one with the AC hoods on each end)

Check the Yahoo OTrains List. Lee is active there and was trying to get a project going a while back. Not sure if he is into stuff like McKeen cars or not, but you could always ask!

Oh man I got to have one of those GE 23 ton Switchers. I wonder if he is going to run them again?

Rich Yoder also makes the 25 ton end cab version. One of these was also on ebay last week. $330 for the Yoder model. The Leetown boxcab actually went for $410. I'll post links to the item listings if I'm allowed. Otherwise search completed listing for Leetown and Yoder and they should come up.

Check with Karlgarin Models regarding future availability of the brass kits produced by 2 Doors Down:

The 9/91 issue of Model Railroader Magazine contains an article on scratchbuilding a brass 23 ton loco in HO scale. Patterns for etchings are provided. Not too difficult to enlarge them and build a loco from brass or styrene.

I just sent them Karlgarin an email...Will post if they reply....

I have a Yoder 25 ton and it is a great model. Runs like silk.
Keeping my eye out for a Leetown end cab.
And it is worth every penny of the $410.00! Runs like a watch and is dead silent with the micro-mo drive. Needed it to move cars around on my short 65' turntable. The Yoder 44 tonner is just about 1/2 inch too long! I think Lee said he made about 35 of them. Keep looking...something will show up.

Guys, I just received a reply from Richard of Kalgarin Models,
G'day Dennis,
Thanks for your enquiry. Unfortunately, for reasons I won't bore you with, model rail matters have had to go on the back burner recently, but I hope to pick things up soon. I'll drop you a line when I have new stocks of the 2DD kits.
Regards,
Richard

To whom it may concern,
Do you plan on restocking any of the small engines you have on you webpage? 23-ton box cab or the 23-ton…
Thanks from across the pond in the US
Dennis
That's at least some hope they will restock. I hope it is sooner than later.

Probably not; Lee is a one-man operation and he produces small runs which require getting together a lot of things he himself does not manufacture. I have one of the boxcabs and one of the Macks (swapped from him for a Kemtron Shay kit). Also the Yoder, which is a later GE 25T model than the 23T. What I also have is a Kemtron kit for the 23T, one of probably their last offerings. Essentially, Lee offered an assembled and upgraded version of that Kemtron kit. The kits are NOT easy to find.
