The key words being "good deal". These always go for as much as or signifigantly more than what the new ones are. With an impending delivery so close I'd wait for the new one.

If you buy a used one and have to send it out for a few weeks to have base charger repairs/ software upgrades done, whats the real advantage?

Take a look at the -FOR SALE_ forum.

Beats me, i was just trying to be helpful.  Not being in the market, I had no ideal what they were selling for.

Maybe we need to fire up the old wise and powerful 8-Ball for the answer to this one? I sure hope the #990's get here pretty soon! We used to use one of these for executive decisions at work.

By "Legacy Emergency", it's not shipping until may be April 15th, and someone needs it NOW?

A lot of us have been waiting a long time for a Legacy 990, and prices are up for those that can't wait.  Once these do get in the hands of the distributors and dealers, the prices will be crashing down fast assuming there are enough to go around.  Ebay had some priced at over $600 not to long ago.  That's just crazy.

So again, where's the fire?  Just wait 12 more days, and if the Lionel shipping schedule holds they will be in our hands soon.  $299 with warranty is what I opted for at pre-order pricing.

Well, I can't say wether the shipping schedule will hold but I do know that they needed to replace a component. The replacement component was ordered from an overseas supplier and Lionel was able to get 1000 of them but needed 2000.

So, based on that they only have a total of 2000 potential sets. Another thing to consider is that many of the dealers have pre-orders and will fill them first. Charlie at Nassau said that he would fill all pre-orders that he has unless Lionel allocates them.

I'm down in Duck trying to use my android tablet. I'm having a little trouble. Sometimes when I type on the keyboard the cursor moves infront of the letter. Don't know why. Anyway once all the dealers fulfill the preorders they will then be out of stock again so don't expect a drastic drop in price. There is a great deal of pent up demand for the product.

Legacy Emergency:- yea I had one of those . Luckily unit was repaired within 3 weeks and returned to the UK by Lionel. I thought this was excellent service.

As I am so remote shall we say from Lionel's service dept. I kept my old TMCC base as a backup and then ran the layout from the DCS remote using the link cable.
