It looks like an updated command control crane and boom car is coming. Has anybody heard if a Union Pacific version of these might be coming?

I have the TMCC version of the UP set. I cant imagine how much you can update it. It works great and sounds great and runs with the legacy remote
When did that come out? 10 years ago? I don't know what the stock numbers are for the crane car or the boom car of the TMCC version, but I doubt I could find them at a train store anywhere. I figured the best chance would be the Legacy reissue - if there ever is one in UP livery.
Correct, about 10 years ago.
Crane is 6-29804
Sound car: 6-29817

Search the item numbers in google and you can find some shops that still have them new.
edited: My apologies the ones that came up all show sold out.
Good luck.
Would be nice to see a NS unit too.

LOL - I was actually coming back here to report on just that reality. And in going out to eBay I see that I must have put both of those part numbers into a saved search years ago and I don't recall EVER getting an email notification that either showed up on eBay. I'd even forgot I'd done that. So it looks like my best chance is going to be a Legacy remake. And it looks like the first set of Legacy versions of these 2 cars are set to debut in the next few months. I only hope that other roads are subsequently offered.
I even found another post in the "Wanted To Buy" list of OGR from a few years back looking for the UP TMCC versions and not a single reply. So whoever has them doesn't appear inclined to part with them.

Nope, NOT parting with mine
Sorry,

I'm also waiting for a Norfolk Southern version of the Legacy crane and sound car to add to my break down train. Black body with white print and yellow handrails will look sharp.
I'm sure they will make several runs of this gem of s train

FWIW, I bought my set on OGR a while back.
I got mine Tom Leapin Larry like 1 1/2 years ago. I like it, it's the coolest train I have.
GRJ,
That was a quote from MOPAC01's post just above mine, I didn't attribute it as a quote, my bad.
The Nope, NOT parting with mine, was my reply to his post. I bought the UP version when it was released, the TMCC Crane car(and boom car) has got to be the most entertaining car Lionel has ever produced, I can spend hours playing with that thing.
Unfortunately, all too often, when something derails(Accidently, OF COURSE) it shorts things out requiring some assistance from the 5 fingered crane.
