Well I've finally installed Legacy on the shop layout. Looks like I will be adding more Lionel to my collection!

Welcome to the best of both worlds Dave.
I'm trying to organize a day trip of some of us Pittsburgh guyz so hopefully we'll see you soon. And don't forget to come by the Legacy forum if you have any questions.
Dave! Your post makes it sound like it was a huge undertaking or something Its only one wire!

Yes, connecting it involves only one wire (and DCS requires just three more--not rocket science). Getting things to operate smoothly can be quite another matter, as I recently learned. However, I certainly have not given up on the system and already have a couple of more Legacy locomotives on order.
And Dave: Great that you got Legacy installed. Now we can give those on-order items a full-blown Legacy test run when they arrive.
Congrats, Dave it's an awesome system, enjoy it.
Thanks, Alex
I should have hooked up that one wire long ago!
Now I have to get one for the home layout.

And if I could recommend the PRR Texas 2-10-4 as an engine to run. When it comes to a stop, the moaning and groaning is spectacular.
Marty,
That has been one of my favorite Legacy engines. I have the MTH one ordered for myself but I wish I took one of the Lionel instead.
Dave
Looks like I have another reason to drive over for a visit
Dave i bring my vl hudson next time i come down there...
Yes Dave,
I've also just installed it in my shop. I wish had done so a lot sooner. I also love the fact that I can actually buy and install all by myself a control system that is in stock and freely available from a company that provides very detailed information and videos on line and has parts, and parts lists, and circuit diagrams. I believe they answer emails too.

Yes Marty I couldn't agree more about the Lionel 2-10-4! Its my personal fav!
& Congrats to you Dave for making the step to hook up Legacy. When I make it out there one day I'll bring a runner too! lol

Thanks, Alex
