Maybe there is a way to fix this but I was running my new PRR N8 Legacy Caboose and I notice after like a minute or so the lights in the cab, and the marker lights turn off until I active the unit again. Seems a little silly to me to have to do that every 45 seconds in order to get the lights to be on. I understand maybe turning the interior lights off but the marker lights turning off doesn't make sense. I have tried every sequence on the legacy remote and nothing, still does it. I even tried making it a train lashup with my consist and it still does it, stays on for about 45-60 seconds and then turns off. Anyone else have this issue or am I just "special?" Or is there a way to fix this as again it doesn't make sense to register the remote every minute just to keep the lights on. Thanks for any insight.

Looks like on Cab-2 icon buttons for lights on and off as well as Aux2. Have you tried Aux2 yet?
Yeah I have worked with all the Aux keys, still goes off. Everything works great until you stop messing with the car. After about 45 seconds just everything turns off. I have never had anything like that before.

let Me ask this question, does the caboose do anything else? If it can be addressed how about a reset? I do not have one so that’s why I am asking. I know with engines this clears it up.
Yes it does all the talking, freight sounds, etc. Just the lights go off. I didn't know if this is normal or just special to mine. I can do a reset and see if that helps.
Hmm... I just dug mine out and fired it up. That behavior doesn't look normal, it's been sitting for over five minutes and the cab light and markers are still on. I did exercise it a bit and moved it a few times to get the moving sounds, then just let it sit.

Have you tried reprogramming the caboose? My UP version I had noticed in a train the lanterns would be off unless I activated the caboose directly but turned right back off when I went back to the train. Reprogram both the caboose and train fixed my issue
My issue is the marker lights won't come on in a lashup of more than 1 engine, you also need to program it as a station sounds passenger car.
That's a good idea, I will reprogram it tonight and see if it does it anymore. Thanks for the idea.
Mine had sporadic operation. I checked the pickup rollers and found a broken wire on one of the rollers. The wire was too short. Once I fixed the wire, it started working fine.
Ok so what I figured out the issue was. Apparently these cabooses are very temperamental and any dirty spots on the track cause the lights to go out and not go back on until you register an action again. That is very annoying. Would had been nice if there was a capacitor or something in them but apparently not. My Polar Express hobo coach stays light for 45 seconds after the power is turned off!!! Why don't put that action in the caboose!?!?!?! Whatever, it is what it is. At least I know there is nothing wrong with my car. Thanks for the help folks!
