I'm happy he approves! I feel much better now.  I should have also added above that I would bet Lionel is happier than the squirrel (or at least as happy).

Hopefully the squirrel will continue to post here and not leave us after his work has finished.

Oh boy! Sure hope we don't have any serious product problems or shipping delays this winter while he's hibernating.

You'd be pleasantly surprised how much better TMCC locomotives run under Legacy as well.

David

That's great news also, David!  I got a few of those laying around too!

I'm about to enter a whole new era in model railroading!

This will be my first introduction to the Legacy system, very much looking forward to it.

Quick technical question for resident experts: I currently power my layout via a Lionel Powermaster and 180 brick.  Based on some limited research, I believe I have to now buy a Powermaster Bridge, once I convert my layout to Legacy control, is that correct (assuming I would like to continue using the Powerhouse/Powermaster combo)?

Charlie, I pre-orded mine with you guys a few months back.  I am local and did not request shipping, I'd surmise you guys will still give a ring when the units arrive?

Best,

Michael

Hi Jim,

Thank you for the reply.

I actually do have the newer Legacy Powermaster (6-37146).

(I use the CAB-1L Base and Remote currently).

So, I do not need the bridge?  The newer Powermaster will support the 990?

Thanks,

Michael

That is fantastic to know!!

I am glad I asked!

Appreciate the help, Jim.

Best,

Michael

You might want to hold off unless you have several Powermasters since Lionel is introducing the Legacy Powermaster along with updated other controllers.

It will run your older TMCC engines really nicely

So I have heard, and I will probably have them programmed int eh same day I get the 990, but I'll also want to make sure that the quilling whistle slider works, as well as other functions that are Legacy only.  I've already have my appointment at my friend's layout to do a full test of my unit, once it gets here.

Or use as a good excuse to pick up another Legacy engine, for testing purposes

This has already crossed my mind, but I did promise my wife to not buy any more rolling stock for a couple years until I have a layout built in exchange to get the VL BB with matching reefers and caboose.  She is very supportive of my hobby, but likes to make sure I don't over spend my merger salary.    But nothing says that she can't buy me any new locomotives, maybe an early Christmas...
