Oh boy! Sure hope we don't have any serious product problems or shipping delays this winter while he's hibernating.
Very excited to get one in my hands! I'm a Legacy virgin!
Been patiently waiting. I can't wait to see my 8 Legacy Locos under Legacy control
Im watching on eBay if the Cab 2 controllers will drop in price.

You'd be pleasantly surprised how much better TMCC locomotives run under Legacy as well.

That's great news also, David! I got a few of those laying around too!
I'm about to enter a whole new era in model railroading!
I will post the moment the truck arrives in the warehouse. We still have a couple left.
Since, before this item, I had never preordered anything before, how is it handled. Do you contact people that had preordered to make sure CC info and address have not changed/updated or do the items just ship?
Correct JP, we contact everyone when it ships for updated info or address changes.
Don't forget to put one aside for Snapple Joe
I'll be waiting for my email!
I'll be waiting for my email!
So will I. Can't wait to play with it.
I'll have to take mine to a friends as I have no Legacy locomotives until the Big Boy comes to my doorstep.
This will be my first introduction to the Legacy system, very much looking forward to it.
Quick technical question for resident experts: I currently power my layout via a Lionel Powermaster and 180 brick. Based on some limited research, I believe I have to now buy a Powermaster Bridge, once I convert my layout to Legacy control, is that correct (assuming I would like to continue using the Powerhouse/Powermaster combo)?
Charlie, I pre-orded mine with you guys a few months back. I am local and did not request shipping, I'd surmise you guys will still give a ring when the units arrive?
Best,
Michael
Yes you will need to purchase a PowerMaster bridge to continue to use your PowerMaster

It will run your older TMCC engines really nicely
You might want to check current pricing on both the PowerMaster Bridge and the newer 6-37146 Legacy PowerMaster - If they're close, you might just replace your (TMCC?) PowerMaster with the Legacy PowerMaster, instead of adding the bridge.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for the reply.
I actually do have the newer Legacy Powermaster (6-37146).
(I use the CAB-1L Base and Remote currently).
So, I do not need the bridge? The newer Powermaster will support the 990?
Thanks,
Michael
Yup - the Legacy PowerMaster works directly with the Legacy bases. I'm using one with a 180 PowerHouse and the 990, as well as a ZW-C controller with 4 PowerHouses (things got kind of out of control for a while there !)

That is fantastic to know!!
I am glad I asked!
Appreciate the help, Jim.

Thank you for the replies, Chris.
Yup, looks like I'm all set.
Does anyone know what version of software will be installed in the current released Legacy System when they arrive?
Since 1.52 has been out for over a year, I would hope that the shipping units are at least that. I haven't heard any rumors of anything newer, and if the new units were shipping with a higher rev., I'd expect it to be available for download on Lionel's site simultaneously. 1.52 is the highest version they're currently showing.
1.52 is current and as far as I know, nothing new is imminent. .

Or use as a good excuse to pick up another Legacy engine, for testing purposes

You might want to hold off unless you have several Powermasters since Lionel is introducing the Legacy Powermaster along with updated other controllers.

So I have heard, and I will probably have them programmed int eh same day I get the 990, but I'll also want to make sure that the quilling whistle slider works, as well as other functions that are Legacy only. I've already have my appointment at my friend's layout to do a full test of my unit, once it gets here.

This has already crossed my mind, but I did promise my wife to not buy any more rolling stock for a couple years until I have a layout built in exchange to get the VL BB with matching reefers and caboose. She is very supportive of my hobby, but likes to make sure I don't over spend my merger salary. But nothing says that she can't buy me any new locomotives, maybe an early Christmas...
Received an email from Nassau this morning asking me to call them to finalize payment.
Just got off the phone with them.
They said it will ship out today or tomorrow!
Got my email from Nassau this morning as well. Called and it's going out tomorrow. I'm psyched!
