Hi,

Have a Legacy PRR  4-4-2  6-11224    Working fine one session next time no. Will not respond from Legacy remote commands. When fixed powered track is turned on it starts up its on. ( obviously should not ) Several other Legacy engines working fine so have ruled out base and remote. Seems to perform correctly on a conventional set-up forward, reverse, bell, whistle. Cant seem to do a reset because not getting commands from remote ? Like it is stuck in conventional mode.  My only thought was antenna issue , pulled shell and checked, all look OK but alot of wires jammed in that little steamer.  .?????

Thanks, Tim

I have that little guy, it's fun to get the boiler shell back on without pinching a wire.  If you have checked the antenna, and it's not grounded to the frame and it is correctly connected to the RDCR pin, my top suspect would be the RDCR.

Thank you John

Hi John,   you got me thinking, took shell off for another look, test ran without shell everything was working as it should. ( Dont know why I did not try that before )  I tested continuity between grab rails and pin connector and that was good, re-checked all connections and pins, did a little clean up on wire routing and all is working again. I suspect like you said with all that wiring in there a connection was cocked and not making full contact.

Thanks again for all the help, Tim

Meant to say, not making good connection to the grab rails ( antenna )

Thanks Marty, I had already checked that and had continuity from the rails to the pin connector, so that looked good, reseated all the pin connectors and so far so good, running again. There is alot of wiring jammed in this little steamer, I suspect that a connector had come loose. I know now which wire and which connectors contain the antenna lead so if it happens again I know right where to look.

Thanks again for your help, Tim
