If I hit boost on my cab-2 the base will flash but I get absolutely no signal fro the base to the tmcc controller light will not flash at all.
Not sure what's hooked up here.
is you accessory assigned as a train or engine?
I assigned it as an accessory per the manual.
You might start out by describing what accessory it is, and how you have connected it to the Legacy system.
Like the previous post, the exact model of the accessory and any controller you're using to connect it to the Legacy system.
There has been issues with the Legacy base driving too many serial devices, it doesn't have the drive that the older TMCC command base has. If you have a number of serial devices hanging off the Legacy base, that may be the issue.
Note that we're just guessing here since we have no details.
Sorry fella guess that would help, I already know the base will not drive many serial devices, so I hooked an asc controller only to the base to get it to work. It will flash the light on the base when you hit boost but it will not flash the little green light on the controller. If I hook this back over to a cab-1 base it will work just fine. The cab-2 and base will run engines just fine, but nothing thru the serial port. chief
Could be the Legacy base is broken, it happens.
I understood the Legacy system needed a SC2 to run accessories and switches.
John I just spoke to a tech at Lionel, I have always had issues with range. Explained what I was doing and how it was hooked up and that cab-1 base operated them fine . Bottom line base is going back. chief

I do use SC2's controlled by the Cab 2 to operate my switches and accessories. In this way you use the Switch and Accessory buttons on the Cab 2.
I have three accessories controlled directly from the Cab 2: Backshop, TMCC Culvert Loader and Culvert Unloader. These are addressed as Engines.

I figured as much from the description. Doesn't sound like you could screw that up.

You can use other stuff like the ASC or even an SC-1 if you have them.
Thanks John i was misinformed.
Don't know who told you that, but I've run the TPC-300. the SC-2, the SC-1 on my Legacy system. AFAIK, other than the limited drive of the serial port, it's compatible with anything that you could run with the old TMCC command base.
John I have never been able to get the cab-2 base to accept anything thru the serial port I also mentioned the poor signal range I get as well, so he wants the whole thing back. Thanks for your help. chief
If the serial port doesn't work, then I agree send it back!
