Has anyone used the Lemax field lights on their layout? I thought they looked more prototypical for an industrial area that I plan to install rather than using the stadium style Lionel floodlight tower. Thanks for your suggestions.

I recently made this conversion and am very happy with it. It was motivated by wanting to take some load off my ZW, but I like how they look better too.
Found the Lemax lights for about $8 each shipped and put up 4 of them around the switch yard. Much more light, much less power usage, and a more modern look.
My only caveat is that you get what you pay for, and two of the five I ordered had one LED that didn’t work right out of the box.
Still, overall, a great upgrade for me.

To create a bit of forced perspective, I lowered the towers at the far end of the yard about 2” so they look further away. Adjusting the height is a nice feature that isn’t obvious when you first get them. I found it by accident. Good luck!

I like the way they look. Were you able to replace the bulbs or did you just return the defective ones for replacements?
