Hi Guys, Thanks for nice comments now lets keep this topic alive !!!!!!! Lenny J
Here's a couple, plus a video, of my D-192 copy. It's been worth its weight in gold as a daily stress-reliever! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zA4Qf_pnXbo

Jon,
How large is your layout? It's hard to tell by the photos. Have you posted more info in the layout section that I could take a look at? I'm trying to come up with a layout design to fit in a 10x17 horseshoe. Do any of the trains crossover others or are they just on different levels near each other?
Oh, and what curves sizes are you using?
It is a 12' X 12' L shaped layout with five-foot widths. The outer curves are O-42 and the inner are O-31. The switches are all either O-22's or the O Gauge switches from the late 90's.

Thanks for the info Jon.
Postwar style layouts should include at least one turntable and roundhouse. This is a picture of my 30 plus year old scratch built turntable and roundhouse. Turntable is moved with a hand crank on the control panel via a clothes dryer drum belt. Works like a charm.

I really like it and the fact that it's tucked into a relatively small space with the spur going around the back. And I see what looks like my first locomotive, the red center-cab diesel. I've been avoiding a turntable because of the cost and space usually dedicated to them. I may rethink the idea as I play with my designs during the coming year.
