Sometimes, regardless of your best intentions and advanced planning, Life just gets in the way!  As much as I was looking forward to spending Spring walking the Fairgrounds and raising a glass at Friday's, I will unfortunately miss out on all the fun.  Thursday is my daughter's birthday, and there's only going to be a limited number of these remaining before she's off on her own, so can't miss that.  And in addition, my Dad was hospitalized a few days ago and is now in rehab, so I need to stick around to see how things go, as I'm the only sibling in the area.

So have a great York.  Take and post lots of pictures so I can experience the fun vicariously!!  See you in October!

Thanks, guys, for all the good wishes.  I've had some good luck in past Yorks so I really can't complain, especially when there are many who for reasons, geographic and otherwise, have never been able to experience the fun.

At least I'll have the excitement of "opening" two new train catalogs when they come online tomorrow morning.

"So I got that going for me, which is nice."

Well you have to enjoy your dauther birthdays.Because like you said she going to be out on her own.The same goes for your dad. There will be other yorks.Enjoy your family and the trains you already have.Stay chuging my friend.

Almost didn't make it myself. On April 6 my wife got in a bad car accident. She was a passenger in her sister's car. They were traveling 65 mph in the right hand lane on I76 west bound in Mahoning County in OH. A semi-truck driver decided he wanted to be in the same lane. He did an improper lane change and performed a pit maneuver to the car, spinning it around 360 degrees while hitting it numerous times. Air bags did not deploy. EMS had to cut away the driver's door so that they could remove my sister-in-law. My wife's door was able to be opened. The car was considered totaled. Both were taken to the hospital. My wife suffered a whiplash and muscle pain to her left shoulder and right hip. My sister-in-law has a cracked pelvis and whiplash. It could have been much worse.

I ordered my badge early and tried to finagle my way out of a company meeting but couldn't.  Since work is interfering I have to eliminate it :-)  Hello retirement! I think I here it calling me.

I can hear it from here.
