I'm looking for the Lighting Distribution boards MTH uses in their diesels. Anyone know a part number? I also wouldn't mind making my own if I can buy the parts to do it. I'd be needing a board for lighting upgrades in a Lionel E6 steamer. 1:51 in this video shows the board.

Maybe describe what type of lighting upgrades you wish to have, your control method, etc..

I'd be using 3 and 5mm LEDs. I've already installed them but I want to mount the lighting board up in the shell and have a plug connecting them to the ERR cruise board. The engine (lionel 6-28706) had tmcc but I gutted it thinking I wanted PS3 but now I want to put TMCC back in it. Theres nothing in the engine but the motor and the lights I added. The tender is still intact.

You'll likely need more than one connection.  Since the ERR connections will be different than PS/2, it's likely it'll be more work to use that board than to simply roll your own.  Here's an example of the wiring for one that I did.

Cool. Thanks. Now in terms of the ERR set up, the engine had TMCC and I removed it (thinking of PS3 but changed my mind) how do I interface the wireless tether with it or can I not do that?

I tend to wire all the lights that are in the shell for either steam or diesel and bring them to one connector that goes to the frame, makes it easier to manage the wiring.  OTOH, you don't have that many wires yet.

Here's a typical diesel install, this is the WBB Trainmaster.  The shell and the frame, and then the wiring diagram.

Awesome. Btw, I see the ERR boards are in. The cruise commander would be the board to use with this engine right?

Yep, the Cruise Commander and the Electric RailSounds Commander is what's in this one.  I tend to go "fancy" on the lighting, simply because I think it's cool.  Most visitors love to see stuff like the directional markers and the like, even though they're not really prototypical.  The operating MARS light is another hit in whatever I've put it in.

Wire management is key when you're doing these projects, it'll make or break them.

Sweet! For my (6-28706) engine would the cruise board would be right for me?

We're switching gears, you're indicating the TMCC Atlantic with Odyssey cruise.  Are you intending to replace the Odyssey with the ERR Cruise?  If so, the correct board is the ERR Cruise Commander M, it replaces the Odyssey DCDS.  There's a bit of wiring involved, but fairly minimal.

I pulled the odyssey cruise thinking I wanted PS3 but changed my mind and want to put ERR in it. The engine is empty minus motor and lights. The tender wasnt touched and still has all electronics in it.

That's different, in that case it's the Cruise Commander and the RailSounds Commander.

Truthfully, I'd put the TMCC back in and use the Cruise Commander M, that way you can still use the wireless tether and all the tender electronics.

How much work would it be to put the TMCC electronics back in in terms of wiring? I don't mind running a tether from the engine and tender.

Well, it's like a new installation in that case.  You can use the tender electronics, you'll just have to figure out the wiring for a wired tether.  Fitting the Cruise Commander into the locomotive may be a challenge, it's a different form factor than the old boards.  I suspect fitting it into the tender may not be possible without first doing something about the old configuration.

Ah alright. Well at least I know what to order. I'll buy the cruise board and go from there. Can I ask you for help if need be?
