Sweet! Are you sure those aren't real?

The cabless front end loader in your rock and stone pile was a old favorite Job Playtime.
Very Nice pictures and well done! There does not seem to be a hopper for the loader to dump. We had one about 15' up and used a 7 foot high ramp over 20 feet to raise the yards of material to dump into hopper.
Again, very nice pictures, I draw inspiration from it.
WOW so Very nice!
Very nice! Them boys working the night shift. Thanks for posting.
Don,
Very nicely done! Thanks for sharing the awesome photos. BTW, been meaning to ask you... it seems as your crews go on duty 2nd or 3rd shift and do most of the work at night, off hours for the customers they serve. Good for the customers businesses, but most of the railfans in the area must be unhappy? Except the one getting these shots?
Don, I have one of those PR plants and will follow your lead. Look fantastic....
Thanks Dennis
I recall working around a F unit switching a Cement Facility and when it is dark with that thing ghosting along... they get to sneaking on you.
Morning guys
Yea Mike, these guys run on high octane java . My good friend Ben Brown showed me how to install these lights and hook them up. Night running has become a favorite time on the rr. If any of you guys are in the same spot of wanting to add lighting to your layout pick up some 12v bulbs from Miniatronics and some plastic shades from Berkshive Valley (if you want shades on them). Also grab some tiny wire nuts to link one wire from each light to the others so you will only have 2 wires leaving the building to your power source. Really easy....
Dennis I went with cheap paints from the hardware store for this one. I used a Valspar Hotel Vanilla (off white), and Rustoleum Everglade green. Be sure to prime the brass first. Use Krylon glass frosting to dull the whole thing. There are lots of other color options too.
Really great looking shots. Thanks for posting them.
NICE WORK!
Erik
WOW! Very, very nice. I'm ready to put my hardhat on and get to work. Thanks for posting. I can't believe how real that mixer truck looks!
Nice work!!!!
Don,
Do you mind telling us where you found that ready-mix concrete truck?
I specialize in concrete dams and would love to have a truck like that on my layout.
Great cement / fly ash storage setup.
Thanks.
glad you liked them guys.....
PRR- yes thats a kitbashed first Gear 1/50 scale Ford F100 truck and Joal 1/50 scale cement mixer. Basically I just cut the cab off at the frame and spliced it to the Joal cement truck (as I recall it was the Joal 331 which had a euro cab on it). I used JB weld though gorilla glue works just as well. Really simple then I painted and weathered it a little.
There are currently no US cement trucks offered in 1/50 scale so this is really the only option....
Well I guess I will just have enjoy the hobby through your eyes. I'm too old to model as well as you. Great job as always.
Dick
ps Some day you will have to show us your goofs.
What are you using for lights?
Dick I actually didn't do a whole lot with this industry as the plant comes built and ready to mount. Just a little paint work and some weathering. I still need to add some more details inside like "Work Safely" and other cement industry related signage. I found a sign last night that warns drivers to wash out their drums. Stuff like that. Its all online and its just a matter of searching out the pictures.
But as mentioned above the lights are from Miniatronics (just 12V bulbs you can buy by the gross).
