This is the place to post your photos and videos of your favorite LionChief, LionChief Plus and LionChief Plus 2.0 locomotives, and explain why they are among your favorites.

I will start us out with my #1 favorite, the LionChief+ Erie Camelback steamer:

Why is this my #1?

First, look at the detail. Unlike most LC+ engines, the detail on this one is comparable, IMO, to a Legacy steamer.

It's scale size. Scale is usually not a priority for me because traditional enables me to run trains with more cars because of my reverse loops, but I occasionally run scale size cars and I know scale is desirable for most hobbyists.

It also smokes, sounds and looks great IMO.

Most importantly, it's relatively affordable, costing about $400 to $450.

Like all engines in the LionChief family, they are so easy to run with speed control, without any need for additional wiring.

I have DCS and love it,  but it was a challenging project for me to install the necessary additional wiring for DCS, necessitating considerable time and energy. None of that is required for LC, LC+ and LC+2.0.

You only have to wire the layout once, then you get to run as often as you desire.   I have a few LC+ 2.0 locomotives, I run them all with TMCC and the mix with all my other command locomotives.

I only have one lionchief engine at the moment as all my others are conventional. my lionchief engine is from the 2018 hot wheels set that i got in 2019 as my first train in over seven years and my community college graduation / 24th birthday present. i love Hot wheels just as much as toy trains so i had to get it and thankfully it is still in service on the Northwestern / Mid-National Rail lines and is one of my favorites because of the squealing tire burnout sound you get when the engine starts moving. However i do not run it very often to preserve it as much as possible and i don't have fast acting breakers yet so i run it with a risk.

however the Hot wheels engine may get dethroned as my favorite as i have the lionchief santa fe autorack set with the ex MTH dash 8 coming soon my first engine with VSR and let me tell you waiting to play with that new dash 8 for so long has been torture and if all goes well i will be experimenting and running that dash 8 the entire christmas holiday

i also plan on getting the new lionchief 2-8-0 consolidation as an absolute MUST as yesterday i saw 2 mth 2-8-0's of the same tooling and was blown away by how MASSIVE and rugged they looked. If i get the lionchief consolidation you best believe i'm gonna run the wheels off that thing. i just hope the dash 8 and consolidation can hold up to the workload i will put them through especially when i have the added protection of a fast acting breaker
