The rear coupler, on my Reading GP-7 stopped working. I hear the sound effect but the coupler will not open. Before I get too excited, I am going to try activating the uncoupler using the Bluetooth APP. The loco is less than a month old. I hope this isn't a preview of things to come.

Let us know what happens! I saw Lionel not long ago started firing the electo coupler with DC. Said to use graphite dust on them to help keep them from sticking.

Check for a broken wire. My LC+ GP20’s rear coupler wire broke very early on.

Right on the money, Mike. One of the wires is loose from the coupler. After I take a closer look, I'll decide if it's something I can fix or not.
I have this unit too, and I love it. Hope it works out, sorry to hear.

I haven’t had the chance to really look into mine; I know it’s a small-gauge wire and it seems to have broken at the coupler end. I’m not sure my soldering skills are up for that...

Since the unit is only a few weeks old, I may just send it to Lionel or take it to an authorized service station.
Probably a good idea.
