What would you pay for a Lionel (or repro) 116 Station? I'm thinking about a beater to repaint if I can find one, but I'd take a nicer one if it was affordable. Prices on eBay are all over the place & I'm not sure what's market value. Headed to a train show today.

good question. I'd like to get one, but don't really have a spot for it(but you know how that goes). I keep finding other things to get, so I haven't done any research on a 116 yet. good luck at the show.
I can't recall if the 116 is the larger of the two stations. At any rate, I have the smaller one in green in pieces to be redone. I also have the larger one assembled that someone did a sloppy job touching it up. I bought these like 12-15 years ago when these repros weren't as available. I'm in a stage of life that cleaning out things that don't require much effort (like shipping big heavy stuff) is attractive. I have a lot of old standard gauge track, parts, accessories, etc. If anyone is interested in talking to me about these, please feel free to email me at address in my profile. I'm going to York where we could make an exchange.
Very nice station in the right setting. I had one but sold it as it just did not fit in with the rest of the scenery. Nothing else was in tinplate.
Railroaded,
You might have better luck asking on the, Tinplate Forum. Since you're willing to make touch-ups, take the show route. I've yet to see a "fair market" value on any used tinplate piece. You and only you know how much you can afford. Start by making an offer.
The market value of any item is what the public is willing to pay. There is an MTH repro for $150 now at auction.

IIRC $150 is what I paid for my MTH 116...maybe 7-8 years ago. The station stop feature integrates nicely into any layout set up for automatic control and signalling.

Where'd you see that Larry? Ebay?
Send me an email and I will send a Picture of my station area.
