I believe you're talking about the "Overland Limited" set offered in 1984 or '85 Collector's catalog.

 

I just happen to have some numbers for you, I wrote them down recently at a train store  to check my collection at home.  Luck or what?

 

Car numbers…9545, 9546, 9547, 9548, 9549, 7210, 19121

Locomotives....8480-8482 w/B-Unit (ABA).

 

I don't have which car corresponds to the numbers, but this should point you in the correct direction.

I remember this set well!  It sure was something back in the day!

Hmmmmmm......I think I know a place where I would like to see a picture of those cars.........

Believe it or not lionel made 9 cars for that set. Not sure the engines with the pulmore motors could pull that many cars without tripping the transformer. 

 

The cars with 2 bulbs each would pull about 7 amps plus the F units, you would be above 10-11 amps. Nice set though.

If memory serves, they sold a few add on cars over the next few years after the set was offered.

 

The cars I listed were only with the set at the store.  Sorry, forgot to mention that.

 

My grandpa had the IC "City of New Orleans" set of the same era.  I fondly remember him and I tripping the breaker with just a few cars.  Especially if those old pulmore motors weren't well lubed!

I will soon have a 7 car Amtrak GG1 set and best is to replace the bulbs with the LED type bayonet bulbs...... I will be doing that soon.  I am expecting to pull 10 amps with 13 bulbs and GG1 and with the LED bulbs I am hoping for least 6 amps.
