How or what is the best way to fix this 7 conductor ribbon cable. I bought this a couple of years ago and are just getting around to putting it on my layout. Unfortunately, the cable is not usable. Is it possible to splice it and if so what are peoples recommendations? Are there any special tools or steps I need to be aware of so I don't damage any other part of the unit? See attached pictures.
