Hey folks, I've got a question regarding the recent run of Lionel Mallets (Specifically SKU: 2131130 and 2131200)

The engines run completely fine, no mechanical issues, but there is one sound issue. Every time the track is turned off and on again, the engine starts up very quietly (even if it was turned off at full volume), and the whistle/bell combination is always +1 in the sequence from where it was left when the power was turned off. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this may be?

I do recall someone else having a similar issue with the whistle/bell advancing by one when power was cycled. Dave Olsen confirmed that it was a programming error on the board. However, I'm not sure about the lowered volume after restarting. I'm guessing you tried a reset and or reprogramming it already, but if not it's worth a try.

The last run of 10 wheelers startup at full volume occasionally  depending on where you have the volume level set at prior to shutdown.

They also do not hold the alternate whistle setting  and default to the first whistle upon startup.

I suspect the board will have to go back to Lionel to fix any programming errors.  There have been a few issues with sound boards in the last few years, the H10 sound cutout, the Challenger chuff mistake, etc.
