I acquired a very nice 219 crane on eBay, but it needs to have the cracked, chipped, and swollen gears replaced for the winch that raises and lowers the hook (see photos). New gears are available from several sources but how do I get the old gears off? The worm gear slides back and forth about 1/8 inch on the shaft but will not come off. The flat gear on the drum shaft will not budge at all.
On the other hand the flat gear for moving the boom up and down has been replaced but is so loose that it slides out of position. How is that gear normally fixed to the shaft?
