How do you remove the retaining pin that holds the rear truck to the frame on a post war Lionel 2343 dummy unit?

I think it is one of the "horseshoe clips" that Lionel used to hold on all their trucks. Stick a screwdriver between the legs to pry them apart and slide the clip off sideways. Don't bend it too much or it will break in two. You can use a "c clip" to replace it if that happens.
